This is one the best books for oil and acrylic panting beginners with a very good structure and easy step by step painting lessons each building on the previous. You learn the basics for scetching and drawing, composition and design, setting up a still life, applying paint, mixing color and so on, you learn to paint still lifes like apple, pitcher , pears, cup and saucer, grapes, bowl of oranges, old books, copper kettle, florals.
This is such a great book. Highly recommend of course for any level of oil painter. Great notes on drawing, tips, color values etc.and a good review for advanced painters as well. This can be used for first time oil painters or advanced and a great tool to have at your classes or workshops when teaching.
Love this book. Great for someone starting out or trying to get started. Nice step by step.
As an oil instructor, I consider this book an excellent, easy to follow instructional book for my oil students. I purchased two books for students to use during class. Highly recommended.

What a great way for me to get started on the painting I have always wanted to do. I do not know oils at all but in reading thru the pages I really relate to the method and and am looking forward to working thru the entire book.
